  • Appalachian Trail Hike starting in mid to late September 2014, any takers?

So I'm resigning from my job in mid September to train more and hang out with family and friends before I leave for basic in Jan '15. I've spent a lot of time hiking the AT and surrounding trails in North Georgia and NC. I'm going to take some of this time to hike a 136 mile portion of the AT starting at Blood mountain and ending at Fontana Dam Shelter, North Carolina.

I'm going with a friend of mine but figured some of you a$$ holes might want to join too.

The pace will be about 10 miles a day for 2 weeks. It doesn't sound like a lot but the trail purposefully takes you up and over every mountain in its path. That combined with backpack weight, and push-ups (gotta keep the push-up numbers up for PSTs!) will make for a great workout physically and mentally for getting ready for BUD/S.

Plus the black bears are really active that time of year. They're harmless but it definitely makes it more interesting when they're around.

Let me know if anybody wants to come.
