  • Auto qual times for run and swim

    Good afternoon everyone!

I'm not sure if this is correct, but I heard some scuttlebutt that if your combined run and swim times are below 18:00, then you can auto qual for a SEAL contract, provided your PT scores are solid as well. I just wanted to know if anyone can verify the veracity of this statement, and if it is true or not.

What exactly is autoqual? I hear it thrown around a lot with a lot of mixed responses. I was under the assumption that the pipeline is competitive, so what if more people autoqual then the navy can let enter?

Auto qualification is weighed in by various factors within the draft. Waivers (if any), asvab scores, and your PST. As far as I know when I went through the process several years ago, recruiting does the "whole man" approach.
