    Here are some quotes that wont necessarily help you get pumped up but rather make you think about why you want to become a SEAL or in a broader perspective join the armed forces.

              Most of my favorite quotes are excerpts from poems or song lyrics, if not the entire poem/song itself. Invictus was already posted, so here's another one that comes to mind, from Robert Browning's A Death In The Desert:

                          What this quote is saying is that if these men were able to admit their fears, they would've realized that there was no reason to be ashamed of them.

                              When I was in high school, I remember attending the Pittsburgh Speaker Series with my old man. One of the speakers we had the pleasure of listening to in person was Jim Lovell, the flight commander of the Apollo 13 mission. His final remarks was a quote that has stuck with me ever since.
