WOMEN IN SPECIAL OPERATIONS FORCES INSTRUCTOR BILLETS

These top tier female instructors are the guardians of the training pipeline. Only the most talented instructors are chosen to guide the next generation of SEAL and SWCC candidates to meet and exceed the character, cognitive, leadership, and physical requirements of Naval Special Warfare assessment, selection, and training.

Within Naval Special Warfare (NSW) there's an elite group of preeminent instructors, the top tier known as WISOF instructors. At the Naval Special Warfare Center (NSWCEN) these female NSW instructors hold the enviable position developing and upholding operational training standards, providing an objective view of the training environment, informing and advising leadership, and helping to maintain a fair, professional, and dignified training environment for all NSW candidates.

The extraordinary women of WISOF train the next generation of warriors for the Basic Training Command and the Naval Special Warfare Assessment Command. Their mission is to work alongside cadre, guiding all candidates to meet and exceed the character, cognitive, leadership, and physical requirements of SEAL and SWCC assessment, selection, and training.

WHO CAN APPLY

Female applicants E5 and above can apply. Physical requirements are based on the minimum Special Warfare Combat Crewman (SWCC) Physical Screening Test standards. All ratings are encouraged to apply. Applications are accepted and screened on a semi-annual basis. Opportunities to earn Master Training Specialist, Range Safety Officer, Jet Ski, Coxswain qualifications, and other career-enhancing NEC's.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  1. Be a U.S. citizen
  2. E-5 and above
  3. No NJP, civil conviction, or ARI in past 3 years
  4. Outstanding mental resiliency
  5. Exceptional physical readiness
  6. No significant financial problems
  7. Be on active duty in the U.S. Navy

ANNUAL SELECTION PROCESS

  1. NAVPERS 1306/92: Special Program Screening Request
  2. CO and/or CMC endorsement
  3. Previous three evaluations
  4. Physical Screening Test conducted by a Command Fitness Leader, meeting SWCC minimum PST standards
  5. Career summary – including relevant deployments and awards received
  6. Personal background summary
  7. Personal statement answering the question: Why do you want to be an instructor at the Naval Special Warfare Basic Training Command (NSWBTC)?
