Information presented on this website is public information. The information requested on this website is collected in accordance with Section 503 of Title 10, United States Code, and may only be used to identify and process individuals interested in applying for enlistment or commissions in the United States Navy or Navy Reserve. Disclosure is voluntary. Declining to provide the information may result in not being contacted by a recruiter, although you may receive recruiting materials in the future. Any information provided is protected from unauthorized disclosure by the Privacy Act of 1974. For site management, information is collected for statistical purposes. This government contracted computer system uses software programs to create summary statistics, which are used for such purposes as assessing what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas.
For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, this government contracted computer system employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. Except for authorized law enforcement investigations, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits. Raw data logs are used for no other purposes and are scheduled for regular destruction in accordance with National Archives and Records Administration General Schedule 20.
Information the United States Navy collects on you from message board/forums or email messages may be used for the purpose of recruiting enlisted personnel and Officers into the United States Navy and Navy Reserve. Authority for gathering information is granted under Title 10, United States Code, Section 503. If you provide any personal history, medical history, contact data or any other information, the United States Navy is bound by Federal law to use the information for recruiting purposes only. Federal law further states that the United States Navy will not release any information offered by you to any person or organization outside the Department of Defense.

The United States Navy, Navy Reserve and the Naval Special Warfare Command reserve the right to record all activity that takes place in message boards/forums. The raw information obtained may be used by the Navy to provide information services to the public. Raw data logs are used exclusively for this effort and will be destroyed on a regular basis.
In accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974 (Public Law 93-579), this notice informs you of the purpose of this data collection and how the collected data will be used. Please read it carefully.

Information collected will be used to: (1) help determine the eligibility and compatibility between individuals interested in potentially pursuing a career as a Navy Sea Air Land (SEAL), or Navy Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewman (SWCC) operator; (2) enable the NSW Assessment Team to provide appropriate career and training preparation information to prospective Navy SEAL and SWCC recruits; and (3) enable the NSW Assessment Team to better allocate limited resources in establishing relationships with the Naval Special Warfare community and prospective candidates.
Information from this database will not be shared outside of the Department of the Navy.
In accordance with the authority, purpose, and approved routine uses, records will be maintained until the prospective recruit becomes age ineligible for Naval Special Warfare programs (age 29) or the prospective recruit chooses to opt-out of receiving further information and asks to be removed from the database. On request or age ineligibility the records for those individuals will be destroyed.
Providing information is strictly voluntary. The NSW Assessment Team does not share this information with any person or other Federal agency unless pursuant to exceptions listed in the Privacy Act. All information collected will be stored on the NSW Assessment Team designated servers which are located in a secure location. Access to the database containing individual records will be controlled and restricted by the NSW Assessment Team through User ID permission levels.
